On Saturday, August 25th, join us in celebrating Indian Peaks Golf Course 25th Anniversary Season! The golf course will be transformed into a pop-up comedy club with Headliner Chris Voth bringing tears of laughter following a hilarious opening act by Stephanie McHugh. The Peaks Bar and Grill is catering, and if that wasn’t exciting enough, dinner and dessert are included in the ticket price. Rated PG-13. Cash bar on site.

Come enjoy a family-friendly happy hour with your dog (enjoyed by 600+ community members last year!) at Erie’s Boneyard Dog Park. The event includes food trucks, a beer garden, family-friendly entertainment, and dog competitions! The first 100 guests will receive a free “Doggie” Bag (limit 1 per family)! This event is brought to you by the Town of Erie and Pop-Up Culture.

A Family-Friendly Halloween Event

The Town’s free Trunk or Treat event has moved downtown and expanded (last year’s event was attended by 2000+ community members)! Trunks will be parked in the parking lots on the southeast corner of Wells and Briggs and the northeast corner of Moffat and Briggs. Many of the downtown businesses will be participating in a storefront decorating contest–voting for “People’s Choice” will open on Monday, October 22; the winners will be announced at the event. Boo! on Briggs Street will also feature costume contests (ages 0-8, 9+ ($5) and group/theme ($10)). The night will be capped off with a glow-in-the-dark dance party complete with a professional DJ and complimentary glow-in-the-dark giveaways for the kids.

The audience listens for clues, narrows down the suspects, and helps the detective solve the murder! The show is rated PG.

Hit & Run: Musical Improv by Voodoo Comedy Playhouse

Based on the suggestion of a title from the audience, the performers of Hit and Run: Musical Improv created an unscripted hour-long Broadway-style comedy musical from scratch.  HNR featured live accompaniment, dancing, soaring ballads, and more emotional outbursts than Rent and Phantom Of The Opera combined.  Rated PG-13.  Dinner menu included a gourmet taco bar from Illegal Pete’s.

A Halloween Event for all Ages

The Town’s Trunk or Treat event moved downtown and expanded! Trunks were parked in the parking lots on the southeast corner of Wells and Briggs and the northeast corner of Moffat and Briggs in Erie. Fifteen of the downtown businesses participated in a Halloween storefront decorating contest. The winners were: Most Creative: Life Song Church of Erie; Best Theme: Flagship Properties; People’s Choice: Platypus Papers; and with 14 votes behind the winner, Honorable Mention: 24 Carrot Bistro. Boo! on Briggs Street also featured costume contests and a walking street performance by Phelyx the Mentalist. The night was capped off with a glow-in-the-dark dance party complete with a professional DJ and complimentary glow-in-the-dark giveaways for the kids.
